Palette Knife Painting: Dec 13th

Palette Knife Play: Layered and Textured
Sunday, December 13, 2:00 to 4:00 PM

Put the brushes down for an afternoon. In this hands-on workshop, we'll explore everything a palette knife can do, from smooth, buttery spreads to chunky texture, crisp edges, and delicate scraped lines.

You'll learn 10 different palette knife techniques, practicing each one before putting them all to work in a layered, textured abstract painting. We'll talk about building depth through layers, balancing smooth and rough areas, and letting the paint, rather than a plan, lead the way. No experience needed. Abstract painting is a great place to play, and the knife makes it easy to be bold.

You'll leave with a finished painting, a toolkit of techniques you can use again and again, and a new favorite way to move paint.
